The 152-tile active deck
| Family | Active tiles | Match by |
|---|---|---|
| Bams (bamboo) | 36 | Same rank, 1–9 |
| Craks (characters) | 36 | Same rank, 1–9 |
| Dots (circles) | 36 | Same rank, 1–9 |
| Winds | 16 | Same direction |
| Dragons | 12 | Same color: red, green, or white |
| Flowers | 8 | Any other Flower |
| Jokers | 8 | Another Joker only |
The three suits have four copies of each rank. Winds have four copies of each direction; Dragons have four copies of each color. A Bam never matches a Dot or a Crak, even if their numbers agree.
Why does the reference show 166?
The original vector artwork catalog contains 166 pieces, including extras and spares beyond the 152 active tiles. These are reviewed illustrations, not manufacturer photographs. It is a visual reference, not the deck used for a game. Extra artwork does not introduce new matching rules.
